Dear Prescription Data Submitter,

Maps

The PMP Clearinghouse has been updated to the ASAP version 4.2A. This update includes the functionality to capture exemption codes for opioid prescriptions exceeding 100 morphine milligram equivalents, and the ICD-10 codes for the palliative care exemption.

The updated user guide outlining the ASAP 4.2A specifications, as well as a guide that crosswalks the Maine exemption codes to the ASAP 4.2A Treatment Codes is available on the Maine PMP website and is available in the Quick Links section of your PMP dashboard.

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO NOTE:

• DSP05 – Date Filled
This field should reflect the date the prescription left the pharmacy. This is to ensure that the patient report accurately reflects the date the patient received the prescription.
• DSP24 – Treatment Type
Required for opioid prescriptions exceeding 100 MME (see attached guide/crosswalk)
• DSP25 – Diagnosis Code
Required when Palliative Care Exemption Code is utilized for opioid prescriptions exceeding 100 MME

You may begin reporting in ASAP 4.2A now, as the system will be accepting both ASAP 4.2 and ASAP 4.2A.

When this happens, the user, the product and the writing team all suffer in some way. In order to get past this point the user manual must make a strong.

Program Overview

The Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) is a secure online database that is used across the State of Maine to improve public health. All prescribers and dispensers are able to review their patient’s controlled substance drug history prior to prescribing or dispensing any schedule II – IV drugs. All prescribers and dispensers are able to be connected to this centralized system. The PMP helps to prevent adverse drug-related events through opioid overdoses, drug diversion, and substance abuse by decreasing the amount and/or frequency of opioid prescribing.
