Cisco phones purchased from Vonage Business are delivered and are ready for use. A Factory Reset, outlined in Set Up Phone, is required if the phone was used with a prior service provider or a different Extension.

This information applies to the following models: 303, 501, 502, 504, 508, 509, 512, 514 and 525.

Cisco Phones User Guide

  1. Sign in to the Admin Portal.
  2. Click Phone System, then click Extensions.
  3. Hover over the extension you are adding the device to and click the Pencil icon.
  4. Click Devices and then click Add Device.
  5. Complete the following fields:
    ActiveMark to indicate the device is ready for use.
    Device NameSpecify an identifier for the device.
    Provisioning Model

    Select the device you want as the provisioning model. If you save the incorrect model, use the following steps to correct:

    1. Click Add Another Device.
    2. Mark the Active box and enter a Device Name.
    3. Select the device you want as the Provisioning Model and enter the MAC Address.
    4. Click Save.
    5. Hover over the device with the incorrect Provisioning Model and click the Trash icon.
    NOTE: If there are three devices assigned to the extension, you must click Remove Device before you can add another device.
    MAC Address

    Enter the MAC Address, found on the label on the back of the phone. Refer to Duplicate MAC Address Error if you receive an error message when you register your device.

    E911 LocationSelect the E911 location for this device.
    SIP/Authorization IDPopulated automatically.

  6. Click Save.
  7. Hover over the device you created and then click the Pencil icon.
  8. Go to Phone Configuration and click Copy To Clipboard.

  1. Sign in to your Online Account.
  2. Click the Avatar , then click Settings.
  3. Click Devices and then click Add Another Device.
  4. Complete the following fields:
    ActiveMark to indicate the device is ready for use.

Step 1: Factory Reset the Phone

  2. Power on the phone.
  3. Press the Menu button (paper with folded corner).
  4. Go to Factory Reset (option 14) and then press the Select button.
  5. Select OK and then wait for the phone to reset and display the home screen.
    NOTE: It is normal for the incorrect date and time to display after resetting, however, it will display correctly after your phone is configured.
Step 2: Find your IP Address
  1. Press the Menu button.
  2. Go to Network and then press the Select button.
  3. Go to View The Current IP and then jot down the IP Address.
Step 3:Configure Phone
  1. Go to Device Provision Tool for Cisco & Linksys using a computer connected to the same network as your phone.
  2. Enter your Phone's IP Address.
  3. Enter the Provider URL Configuration File address that you copied when you added the phone to the extension.
  4. Click PROVISION PHONE and then wait for the phone to reset.
You can now place and receive calls with your Vonage service.
Cisco 525 Series

Step 1: Factory Reset the Phone

Find the password to reset or log in to phone
